Besides having a really cool name, Michael Masterson has quietly gained some serious notoriety among a growing crowd of entrepreneurs.

In one of his most recent works – Ready, Fire, Aim – Masterson reveals the 4 stages of growth that every entrepreneurial company will face, and what is required throughout the process to “take your business to the next level”.

At the time of this writing, I am only 20% of the way through the book and I can confidently say, this is a mandatory read for any serious entrepreneur.

If you own a small business (or are even just thinking about owning your own business), you’d be foolish not to grab a copy of this book for the measly $17 bucks and change it retails for…

Even being only 20% of the way through this book, the Ready Fire Aim approach can easily be summed up in a few sentences. (of course, you’ll gain a better understanding if you read the book, but I’ll do my best to give you the short version)

The ready fire aim model is simple…

Take action IMMEDIATELY, refine your ideas later…

When applied to a brand new business, or one generating less than $1,000,000 per year in revenue, the idea is simple…

Michael Masterson is big on the 80/20 rule, and emphasizes that 80% of your time as a new entrepreneur should be spent on INCREASING SALES.

After all, sales are what put money in your bank account.

It doesn’t! But that’s exactly what most people do when they start a new business…

They spend all of their time trying to perfect a product or service and build some amazing brand that THEY think is the greatest thing in the world, only to find out that they have NO CUSTOMERS, and nobody wants to buy it…

And guess what? If you don’t have any customers, and you’re not making sales you will go BROKE, sooner rather than later.

In other words, Michael Masterson’s “Ready, Fire, Aim” approach is to get cashflow coming into your business first and foremost.

Common sense, I know, but think about your own business…

Are you spending 80% of your time focusing on increasing sales? Or is it more like a 30% timeshare?
