SurveyLot.com Review
Is SurveyLot.com a Scam?
SurveyLot.com is a company that enables you to get paid for taking surveys online. They also have some other ways of making money which includes mystery shopping, participation in focus groups, and trying new products. Sounds like a good way to make money? Read on to know more.
SurveyLot.com—What You Must Know Before You Go
One major turnoff for SurveyLot.com is its alleged involvement in a major money wiring scam. Often, members of SurveyLot have reported finding that they receive a check in the mail from SurveyLot.com, with specific instructions. They are asked to deposit the check in their bank, and asked to wire a part of that money to a fictitious name, and use the rest of the money to shop at major retailers and keep the rest as commission.
Many have said that the check issued by SurveyLot.com is bogus, and that if you fall for it, you end up owing your bank a huge sum of money, to the tune of $4K to $5K. The company also has a ton of complaints lodged against it with several federal agencies.
When you receive the check, you will be able to cash it immediately, and might be tempted to go ahead and wire the money as instructed. But remember that checks usually take a few days to clear, and if they do not clear, you will be held responsible for paying the amount to the bank.
SurveyLot.com’s other arm, the actual survey business, seems benign in comparison.

If one can be extra careful about the wiring business, SurveyLot.com is just like any other survey business. While making money by participating in surveys in nothing new, it is usually just a marginal increase in one’s income, as receiving too many surveys is near impossible.
However, what SurveyLot.com seems to do is just point one to a list of paid survey sites. In fact, even the interface looks like a Google search interface. So how is this better than merely typing in “paid online surveys” in the Google search box? We’re not sure. It saves some researching time, at best.
The service is completely free for the user, and that is a big plus.
SurveyLot.com—To Sign Up or Not To Sign Up
SurveyLot.com’s biggest negative is the check scam that their members have reported. If that is indeed true, it might be a problem. The rest of the business sounds pretty legit, and in the end, it might just boil down to a question of whether you would want to be involved with a company that has so many complaints lodged against it. Of course, the value of the actual business is just in its concentrated collection of paid survey sites.
What do you think of SurveyLot?
